Eco motor insurance

eco friendly motor insuranceResponding to the growing demand from consumers for ethically and environmentally sourced products, leading motor insurer Co-operative Insurance is the first UK insurer to offer consumers an Eco motor insurance product, containing environmentally friendly features right through from the underwriting to the claims process. And, at the same time, providing customers with an opportunity to have their say in CIS?s unique ethical engagement policy.

Key features of their Eco motor insurance product include:

  • Offsetting 20% of CO2 emissions for every vehicle insured under the Eco motor insurance product by investing in projects like reforestation, renewable energy sources and third world education schemes
  • Premium discounts for ?greener? cars - those in tax band A  that emit less than 100g of CO2 per kilometre
  • Environmental backed claims service

Owners of vehicles that do not qualify for the premium discount can still do their bit for climate change, as CIS will still offset 20% of the average vehicle?s CO2 emissions at no extra cost to the customer.

Ecover - next generation of laundry products

Ecover washing powderAs the UK?s favourite manufacturer of ecological cleaning products Ecover pride themselves on being innovative, pushing boundaries and driving change. They are therefore incredibly proud to be launching the next generation of Ecover laundry products in September 2006.

Ecover pioneered ecological cleaning products in the UK, and as such they continue to be pioneering in the ecological and ethical field.

The whole range features ground-breaking new ingredients, fantastic cleaning power and increased solubility. The key change in the formulae is a brand new surfactant (the bit that does all the hard work), so new in fact that Ecover is the only manufacturer in the world to be using it!

The hero of our new range is Ecover?s integrated Non-Bio Washing Powder. They have spent two years developing the new powder at Ecover?s unique ecological factory.

Their new Non-Bio Washing Powder now works so well on your washing that the Good Housekeeping Institute has approved it. Good Housekeeping tests have shown that the new product is just as good as the leading brand in the UK!

Drink to the solution

FRANK WaterFRANK is a non-profit, natural bottled spring water that aims to supply the UK?s demand for bottled water in a socially responsible way ? by giving the net profits (up to 60p in the ?) to clean water projects around the world.

By funding clean water projects, FRANK aims to bring about positive change in some of the world?s under-served communities. By drinking FRANK, you can be part of that positive change.

The challenge now is to get the water within arms reach of where you are, to give you a choice between a water that helps save lives, and a water that profits shareholders. FRANK water is natural artesian spring water. It is collected from an aquifer deep in the Devonshire hills. The water rises to the surface through under-ground pressure rather than mechanical pumps.

If you think they could be supplying you, your business, or any of your local amenities please contact FRANK.

Green Glass

Green GlassGreen Glass is all about making great looking, useful things from recycled glass. They transform used beer and wine bottles into funky glasses. Broken glass is crushed or melted to produce gorgeous beads for jewellery. Tea light holders are created from molten beer bottles.

The idea for Green Glass originated when its founders were in Africa, working on environmental projects in Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland.  Having bought lots of recycled glasses and admired the simplicity it seemed a fantastic idea that could developed in the UK.

Green Glass? processes are designed to be as energy efficient as possible.  They use recycled material wherever possible for our packaging and make sure all of their suppliers are on the ball as well.  What? more they won the Business Challenge Awards for energy, environment and community to prove it.
