- We purchase, lease and manage, for protection, threatened native forest with exceptional biodiversity. If land is purchased this is usually done in the name of our partner organisations or local communities in the countries concerned. Much of our work concerns the creation of protected corridors of forest between existing reserves to avoid the risk of the creation of isolated fragments of forest with a diminishing gene pool.
- We develop programmes for health, education and alternative income generation with local people living near our projects. These are designed to reduce the human impact on native forests. A significant part of alternative income is derived from responsible ecotourism, and local people are directly involved in the management of the project lodges.
- We aim to form partnerships with non-profit counterpart organisations for our projects, which undertake the day to day management of the projects.
- We promote research in biodiversity and we have research facilities at several of our projects.
