Windsave - do it yourself windpowerMicro-power generation for every household is a step closer with the availability of off-the-shelf wind turbine solutions.  Do-it-yourself wind power is coming to a hardware store near you!

The Windsave wind turbine system is roof or wall mounted and feeds electricity directly into the property on the consumer side of the meter, reducing the consumption of electricity purchased from the Grid. Windsave provides an environmentally-friendly, low-cost source of sustainable energy, providing an opportunity for every property, residential and commercial, in Britain to play a part in the Green Revolution.

The standard wind turbine will be available at B&Q stores in the UK from October at a price around ?1500.  Windsave suggest that payback can be in as little as 5 to 7 years depending on local wind speeds and availability of government grants.

May be of interest - we have some independent reviews and customer opinions on the Windsave turbine and other small domestic wind turbines over at our website - www.bettergeneration.co.uk.

I used two permanent magnet two brushes in each with a ground ROV motors with two 8.5 ft props on 20 ft towers. I am on a large lake and get strong winds most of the year. I have them hooked in a series. I have ordered blocking diodes for each windmill. So far I am getting up to 110 VDC with high winds. I get 40 VDC when the wind is 10 MPH. Should I use a battery bank or is there an inverter that will except both windmills so I can grid tie?.
Thank You
Roy
